In my orbiting path my drone flies sideways where the sensors aren't great at picking up what's ahead.. I know this couldn't work for video, of course.
Furthermore, I don't think object detection cancels the flight or triggers a rth.
RTH is never triggered by obstacle avoidance (DJI does not provide that functionality).DJI obstacle detection and obstacle avoidance works during automated flight if the user has not deactivated it manually.
The frontface flying while recording toward middle of circle is a good idea, but it might be that the DJI SDK does not allow us to implement it (technical restrictions). With more and more drones having sideway sensors this feature request is becoming less critical. Also, better plan your flight already at start in a way where it will not fly into an obstacle!-> But we keep this for future consideration.
